Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Express

One of our favorite treats at Disneyland are Mickey Beignets from Mint Julep Bar, but if you are in Downtown Disney® District  did you know you can get Original New Orleans Beignets (Ben-Yays!) from Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen and Jazz Kitchen Express. Dare I say they beat Mickey Beignets?! Okay, I said it! But I’ll never quit Mickey Beignets.

Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen in Downtown Disney

RB’s Jazz Kitchen offers New Orleans cuisine such as Jambalaya, Catfish, Gumbo, etc. They also have a lot of options for kids- pasta, chicken strips, cheeseburgers and more. Every Sunday they have brunch from 10 am to 3 pm with a live Jazz band playing. The biggest draw for me are the beignets. If you aren’t familiar, beignets are a New Orleans classic! They are French donuts deep fried and topped with powdered sugar. Continue reading

Cove Bar at Disney California Adventure Park

Cove Bar at Disney California Adventure is located on Paradise Pier, next to Ariel’s Grotto. It offers a view of Paradise Bay with a full-service bar. You can dine alfresco on tasty starters like flatbread pizzas, chicken wings, sliders and lobster nachos, while sipping on a draft beer, wine or signature cocktail. They also have non-alcoholic drinks, such as their popular Cotton Candy Lemonade.

We had lunch at the Cove Bar on a beautifully sunny day so dining outside seemed like the perfect idea. We arrived right after 11 am and there was already a good sized line awaiting on tables. We ended up at a table with a view of California Screamin’ launch pad, which the kids loved.

To start our lunch, I had an agave nectar margarita to sip on while I looked over the menu of appetizers.

Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival

I had the chance to check out Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival that ran from April 1st – May 1st. It is a culinary tour of California with 8 different marketplaces to sample from and “Taste Your Way Across the Golden State.”

Upon arriving to the festival, I learned that there was a tasting passport annual passholders could purchase so I took advantage of that deal. For $39 you received a lanyard  with the tasting passport that had 6 tasting coupons attached to be used at any marketplace of your choosing, plus a button to commemorate the Food & Wine Festival, a couple of recipe cards from the various marketplaces, and access to the Blue Sky Cellar if you wanted to take a break and cool off indoors. Springtime at Disneyland

Springtime at Disneyland is something very special. You can’t help but stop and enjoy all of the flowers and greenery around every corner. On our recent trip I couldn’t resist snapping pics of the touches of Spring throughout the park, as well as Disney California Adventure.

I’m still mourning the loss of the Peanut Butter sandwich from Pooh Corner, but one new thing I am enjoying in its place is each month Candy PalacePooh Corner, and Trolley Treats have a special marshmallow wand. In March the marshmallow wand was Triple Chocolate, it was dipped in caramel, chocolate, covered in mini chocolate chips then drizzled with milk, dark and white chocolate. I could barely sneak more then a couple bites from my teenager, so needless to say, we loved it! Continue reading

Birthday Celebration at Disneyland

Every year we designate a December and January visit to Disneyland for both of our boys’ birthdays. On these particular visits, they get to pick out what rides we hit and get any treats they want…wait, they do that every visit?! HA! My youngest turned 7 this year so we visited the park in late January to celebrate his day. On our way to the park, I like to tweet @disneylandtoday for a fun little birthday shout out that makes my kids’ day.

Hayden is one of the pickiest kids you may ever meet. The only treats he wants from Disneyland are Mickey shaped soft pretzels, Mickey cake pops, hot dogs and macaroni & cheese, all depending on his mood. This particular visit he wanted a Mickey pretzel as soon as we got to the park. Mickey pretzels can be found at Pretzel Carts located all throughout the park. They also sell a side of nacho cheese at an additional cost or cream-cheese filled pretzels. Continue reading
