I had the pleasure of spending the day at Disneyland on the actual 60th birthday of the Disney Park along with Jenny of Picky Palate. If you don’t know, Jenny has a feature on her blog about Disney Dining and a Instagram account called @disneyhungry, which are all about the fabulous eats and treats Disney has to offer. So last week when she reached out to me and asked if I wanted to meet her in Disneyland for a day of eating, shopping and going on rides I could not say no.
Typically when we go to Disneyland, I have my whole family with me, which I love (in case they are reading this), but it was neat to have a girls trip with just Jenny and myself. Since I often go with my husband and boys, you can imagine a day of mainly exploring food over rides at the park would not have been their ideal Disney experience, but I sure loved it!
Jenny flew in from Arizona and I drove from San Diego. We both arrived right around 8 am when the park opened. Luckily, she got an inside scoop on free cupcakes being passed out in Tomorrowland to celebrate the parks birthday, which meant CUPCAKES FOR BREAKFAST. We grabbed our free commemorative buttons and headed for our cupcakes.
Once we enjoyed our cupcakes we headed to Candy Palace on Main Street and grabbed a few treats…
Diamond Celebration Mickey Red Velvet Cake Pop
Dark Chocolate Caramel Bar with Sea Salt
Mickey S’more Rice Krispie Treat
After that we made our way to Pooh Corner for more Disney treats…
Raspberry White Chocolate Chunk Cookie
Peanut Butter Sandwich!!!! Always a must! And we definitely got lucky on this sammy with that thick layer of peanut butter.
We went on rides in between our snacking. Then we had a wonderful lunch at Carthay Circle Restaurant at Disney California Adventure. It was a great opportunity to dine there since I usually have my kids in tow and don’t think they would really appreciate that experience. The cheeseburger with pepper bacon was sooooooo good! In the evening we shared a sundae at Ghirardelli. There is something even more special about ice cream when it is at Disneyland!

Bavarian Pretzel from The Golden Vine Winery. As much as I love Mickey pretzels, they honestly can’t beat these big boys.
My Disney day with Jenny was so much fun! It is good to find a girlfriend who loves Disney as much as I do. I can’t wait for our next day at the park together again!
